Pool Heaters
A Higher Degree of Comfort
Most people never imagined the difference a pool heater would make in their lives. Aside from the warm welcome it gives friends and family, your pool heater makes it possible to enjoy a comfortable swim whenever you want, day or night. In addition, many owners now extend their pool seasons to include spring, fall, and in some climates even winter. Thanks to the evolution of high tech, fuel efficient pool heaters, a variety of pool heaters are manufactured to accommodate pools and spas of all sizes. Both above and in ground models can benefit from one of the following designs:
- Gas—These models are commonly available from 100k to 400k BTU and burn either propane or natural gas. Gas pool heaters are ideal where colder outside temperatures may create greater heating requirements.
- Electric—Most electric pool heaters are heat pumps that utilize Freon and a gas compression system to heat swimming pools and spas. Heat pumps are energy efficient, electric alternatives to gas heat. Purely electric heaters are less efficient and are generally reserved for spas and smaller pools.
- Solar—Solar pool heaters utilize the suns own heat and are the most energy efficient way to heat your pool. Solar heat warms pools year round in southern climates and can extend the season in colder regions. Solar heat is environmentally friendly and makes a great cost effective companion to heat pumps when cold weather increases heating needs.
